2027 EOIs now open – find out more
There are multiple programs on offer at Wynnum Wolves FC to meet all needs – from little ones as young as three who are keen to get the ball at their feet to enjoy the fun of football, to those who are seeking additional specialist training to nurture their skill to a new level
The Alpha Wolf Academy is a new program offered at Wynnum Wolves FC.
Alpha Wolf has been set up to offer an avenue for players to access additional skills-based training with the club’s highly credentialled coaches. All sessions are based around small group training with players graded to provide an appropriately challenging environment for all participants. In this way Alpha Wolf sessions can be accessed by all – from beginner players looking to learn and improve their skills to those more experienced players who are striving to take their skills to a higher level.
There are numerous disciplines offered under the Alpha Wolf banner including sessions for field players, goalkeepers and even an Athletic Development program which is a critical – but often overlooked – aspect for young footballers.
Further specialist sessions will also be added in 2025.
Alpha Wolf Academy sessions will be offered in term blocks, generally over 8 to 10 weeks.
Wynnum Wolves FC offers a range of camps and clinics during school holidays for those players and families looking to continue their football involvement during school team breaks.
Camps are generally held over three to four days and are offered in grouped age brackets across the full spectrum of junior age groups from Under 8s to Under 18s.
The focus of camps may vary in each holiday block. For example, some may focus on individual skill development or specialist positions while others will feature a small-sided games focus to encourage maximum touches on the ball for participants.
The club will also link with its International Youth Development Partner, Borussia Dortmund, to offer a number of BVB camps and clinics during 2025.
Having a strong pool of club-based referees is critical to the smooth running of weekend fixtures at our community football club – from MiniRoos to Masters. Wynnum Wolves FC encourages young players, and parents, to get involved in refereeing to support the club.
Wynnum Wolves will generally host a number of referees courses in conjunction with Football Queensland each year to educate and upskill young referees who are paid by the club to officiate at home games throughout the season.
Players from the age of 13 upwards can sign-on to do their Level 4 Referees Course and begin as a club-based referee at Wynnum Wolves FC. Our younger referees start out at MiniRoos level to build their confidence and can then progress to officiate as either centre refs or assistant referees [lines] at Metro Junior, Academy Level and Metro Senior matches as their skill and confidence increases.
Wynnum Wolves FC would love to hear from anyone keen to get involved as a club-based referee for the 2025 season.
