Olympic FC vs Wynnum Wolves FC

Like most other teams, Wynnum Wolves’ NPL Men will be looking to put the nightmare of constant wet weather disruption behind them tonight when they face Olympic in a rescheduled Round 6 fixture at Goodwin Park.

Always a tough prospect on their home turf, Olympic will still be wary of a hungry Wolves team who are still searching for their first league win of season 2025.The two teams shared the spoils in 2024 with a win apiece at home – both exciting and hard-fought matches – and tonight’s midweek NPL match of the round is sure to be a feisty one.

Adding to the spice will be the return of former Olympic fan favourite, Jez Lofthouse, to Goodwin Park – but this time wearing the yellow and black of Wolves. Lofthouse has been slowly working his way back to his free-flowing best over recent weeks, having worked diligently with Wynnum’s High Performance to overcome the persistent injuries that plagued his time at the Brisbane Roar over recent seasons.

Wolves’ fans will be hoping to see some familiar Lofthouse magic on the grass at Goodwin Park tonight.
Striker Luke Francis – who has had his own injury woes at the start of 2025 – will also be itching to add to his 2025 season tally, having found the net in his last two matches for Wolves.

The rescheduled match is the first in a hectic match schedule for Wynnum, who will follow with fixtures against the Brisbane Roar Youth on Sunday afternoon at Meakin Park, an Australia Cup clash with Broadbeach United away next Wednesday, and their return to Carmichael Park home fixture on Sunday, 4 May against Sunshine Coast Wanderers.

Supporters who can’t make it out to Goodwin Park for the midweek match can watch the game live here

Kick-off is at 7:00 PM.
