WYNNUM WOLVES FC VS LIONS FC
Our NPL men’s side kick off their season with Kappa Pro Series action at Carmichael Park this Saturday night as they take on reigning champions Lions FC.
The boys come into this fixture following a competitive pre-season, facing Brisbane Roar, Logan Village, and North Lakes. They also put in the hard yards during an intensive pre-season training camp at the Sunshine Coast.
These two sides meet again with memories of last season’s NPL battles still fresh. In their last trip to Carmichael Park, Lions capitalised on Wolves’ poor run of form, storming to a 7-0 victory. However, as the season progressed, Wolves found their rhythm and returned the favour in Richlands, claiming a thrilling 4-2 win. Look back at our last clash with Lions here
Looking ahead to this matchup, Wolves will be eager to make their mark in the Kappa Pro Series. Group A is shaping up to be highly competitive, featuring Redlands, Strikers, SWQ Thunder, St. George Willawong, and Lions. Wolves’ fans should keep an eye out for several competitive debuts, with midfielder Ryo Emoto, defender Nathan Geyer, and midfielder Josip Milicevic all set to make their first appearances for Wolves.
Saturday’s action at Carmichael Park kicks off at 6:30 pm, with the match live-streamed on the FQTV
