Double Header Preview

Sunday Match-Up at the Wolf Den

Wynnum Wolves will welcome the Brisbane Roar Youth to Carmichael Park today, hoping to capitalise on a last-minute venue change to maintain their forward momentum on the NPL Men’s ladder.
Following a shaky start to the season, a win and a draw in their last two league matches have bolstered the Wolves’ squad’s confidence. However, they will need to dig deep to overcome a hungry young Roar Youth squad, which will likely be strengthened by some of the A-League team’s best and brightest youngsters on Sunday.

Roar’s final A-League match was played out at Suncorp Stadium last night.
Wynnum rode their luck in a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Olympic midweek and will need to show similar grit against the Roar youngsters, who are yet to win a game but pushed league leaders Moreton City Excelsior to the brink in their last outing.

Today’s match will kick off at the later time of 4pm, with Wynnum club officials allowing for maximum drying time for the rain-sodden pitches at Carmichael Park. Can’t make it? Watch live here

Wynnum fans will be treated to a fantastic double-header at the Wolf Den tomorrow, with our FQPL 3 Women’s team also kicking off at 4pm on Field 2 against Springfield United.

After a strong start to their 2025 campaign, the women’s team will be looking to secure their 3rd win of the season. A commanding 8-0 victory over North Star, followed by a resilient 2-1 comeback win over New Farm in their most recent match, has left the FQPL squad full of confidence.

A win on Sunday could see them climb into the top 3 of the league, with 2 games in hand, positioning them strongly for the rest of the season. Springfield United will undoubtedly pose a tough challenge, currently sitting in 3rd position with 10 points.

Catch all the action this afternoon at the Carmichael Park from 4pm!
