Volunteers are the lifeblood of any community football club, and at Wynnum Wolves FC we are extremely fortunate to have some amazing people who give up their time to ensure our club remains strong and vibrant.
Two such gentlemen are Bernie Crew and Rudi Khoury who were both recipients of special club awards Wynnum’s 2025 Awards Night at the Officers’ Mess, New Farm.

A life member of the club, it’s hard to imagine a Wynnum Wolves FC without Bernie Crew.
From coaching our U17 Div 2 Girls team to a grand final victory this year, to cooking bacon and egg burgers for our busy Saturday morning crowd, to ground announcer duties for our First Team games, to being our Mr Fix It for all things electrical at Carmichael Park, Bernie is quite simply part of the glue that keeps Wynnum Wolves moving forward each and every season, and he’s been doing it with a smile for many a decade. Fittingly, Bernie was this year presented with the Jack Hutchinson Memorial President’s Award for 2025. We love you, Bernie!

Rudi Khoury describes himself as “just a football dad” who wanted to contribute something back to the club his son Isaac loves … and so has become Wynnum’s resident IT expert. From assisting with our website, digitising club processes, to taking charge of our security camera upgrade at Carmichael Park, and many more tasks that require his amazing IT expertise, Rudi has become key to many parts of the club’s operations. “I know nothing about football, but my son Isaac loves it,” Rudi said. “I can’t contribute as a coach but I do know IT and I’m always happy to help in any way I can.”

For the past two years Rudi has poured countless hours into a multitude of IT-related projects at the club, the unseen jobs that keep our club operations working well. Rudi was awarded the Terri and Tony Furphy Shield as the Club Member of the Year for 2025 as recognition of his amazing contributions.

Wynnum Wolves FC President, Rabieh Krayem, said there could not be more deserving winners of these two major club awards.

Also recognised on the night was long-standing Club Treasurer, David Killer, who was the 2024 winner of the Jack Hutchinson Memorial President’s Award but was overseas at the time of the presentations last year.
“It was fantastic to also have David in the room with us last Saturday night to recognise his amazing contributions to the club over many seasons,” Krayem said.

“The majority of people in our club community would have little idea of the enormous contributions these three gentlemen make to keep our club operating as well as it does. All three are true champions of our community club,” he said.
