“For one hundred years Wynnum Wolves has played a central role in the local community. As we continue to grow, that role is set to take on even more importance.”

Rabieh Krayem, President

Founded in 1921, Wynnum Wolves Football Club is one of the oldest extant football clubs in Queensland. We have enjoyed a proud history in the round ball game over our 100-year existence and celebrated our milestone centenary year across the 2021 season.

Carmichael Park is the home of Wynnum Wolves FC. This impressive fit-for-purpose football facility is situated in the Brisbane bayside suburb of Tingalpa and features four full-sized football pitches – all under lights.

While our clubhouse and office facilities were devastated by the February 2022 freak rain event and floods that hit the southeast of the state, the club is working hard to rebound as quickly as possible and have temporary facilities in place for its 101st year.

Temporary office and canteen space has been situated onsite, repairs are being made to the club’s two dressing room blocks to bring them back online to welcome teams back to Carmichael Park in 2022.

Our medical room is operational once more and a new office and locker room is being established for our coaches to work from. Work has also started on a fifth field area at the front of the complex which will be used by our MiniRoos and Academy [formerly SAP] players.

Season 2022 is set to be remembered not only for the devastation caused by the freak rain event and floods but for the amazing resilience and pride of the Wynnum Wolves FC community which has bonded together to begin the rebuild of our great club. Planning has already begun in earnest to rebuild a bigger and better Carmichael Park.

While officially known as a “southside club”, the location of Carmichael Park is both central and convenient – just a 20-minute drive from Brisbane’s central business district via Wynnum Road; a quick 15-minute commute from Brisbane’s domestic and international airports; and ease of access from both north and south via the Gateway Arterial Road.

For this reason, Wynnum Wolves FC has long drawn our player and membership base not only from the local bayside area, but from all points north, south and west of the club across Brisbane.

We pride ourselves on offering an inclusive, welcoming community environment that provides an opportunity for anyone – regardless of age, gender or skill level – to find a suitable level of football at the club.

For many this begins with the club’s in-house introductory Wolf Cubs programs for 3-7-year-olds, before young players step up to MiniRoos (8-12-year-olds); junior and senior community Metro teams from Under 13 upwards; and even Masters teams.

The club’s top tier competitive teams currently play in the Football Queensland Premier League competition [FQPL 2] in the Senior Men’s and Under 23s Divisions.

Our junior performance teams form part of Football Queensland’s NPL Development Competition from Under 13s to Under 18s and the Academy Development [former SAP] structure from Under 9s to Under 12s.

Many young girls are involved in our junior community programs, and we have worked hard over the past 18 months to lay solid grassroots foundations to re-establish our female program at the club.

2022 will be the first time in 12 years that we will field both a women’s team and multiple dedicated girls’ teams at Wynnum Wolves FC.
