Wynnum Wolves FC has today opened its registration portal for the 2026 MiniRoos Season [8s to 12s].
The number of MiniRoos teams in each age group will be capped next season at Wolves to ensure the club can adequately cater for all teams on busy training nights at Carmichael Park.
All Wolves’ MiniRoos teams are parent-led with support given by the club’s Technical Staff around training plans and direction for each session.
Each afternoon training space is set up for teams on arrival to enable groups to make maximum use of their allocated training time on the following nights.
Under 8s – Mondays between 5.15 and 6pm.
Under 9s – Thursdays between 5.15 and 6pm.
Under 10s – Tuesdays between 5.15 and 6pm.
Under 11s – Wednesdays between 5.15 and 6pm.
Under 12s – Thursdays between 5.15 and 6pm.
The 2026 MiniRoos competition will begin in the first week of May next year – which is later than usual – but Muster Days and training will start for our Wolves’ MiniRoos players from February. Dates for Muster Days and training start dates will be released early in the New Year.
Due to the later competition start date next season, Wynnum Wolves FC is planning to roll out a number of MiniRoos Carnival Days during school Term 1 leading into the season so eager teams and players can get onto the pitch before Easter.
WWFC MiniRoos co-ordinator, Grant McCoy, is encouraging families to sign on early for the 2026 season for a number of key reasons.
- Players can secure a place and have a better chance of any friend request placements being met with early registrations.
- Families have the option to spread the cost of registration over a longer period via the club’s convenient Majestri payment plan system.
- Uniform sizing and distribution can be completed well in advance of the season start date.
- Team groups that are finalised early will be able to nominate to compete in the club’s planned February and March MiniRoos Carnival Series.
Grant is also encouraging returning families not to leave their registrations until the last minute for 2026.
“We know from previous seasons that our MiniRoos teams do fill quickly,” he said. “We always want to look after our returning families but once teams fill up we will be forced to close off certain age groups because of the training limits,” he said.
The club is also interested to hear from MiniRoos parents who are keen to get involved as MiniRoos Coaches and Team Managers for 2026 as the club has already scheduled dates for MiniRoos and Foundations of Football coaching courses leading into the new season. Grant’s club email address is miniroos@wynnumwolvesfc.com.au
The Wynnum Wolves FC MiniRoos Registration fee for the 2026 season is $450. Players will receive a playing jersey and training jersey as part of these fees.
Players are also required to pay a Squadi registration fee of $50 to Football Queensland; and an affiliation fee of $17 to Football Australia to be eligible to play in the MiniRoos competition. For 12-Year-Olds the Squadi registration fee is $66.
Families are also encouraged to look out for the next round of Queensland Government Play-On Vouchers – to be released in the New Year – which can be applied to 2026 registration fees.
