Get ready for a night to remember!
Former Socceroo, La Liga and English Premier League player Andy Bernal will be our special guest speaker at the 2025 Wynnum Wolves Awards Night on September 27th.
Bernal will join with former Socceroos player and coach Frank Farina and BVB and Celtic legend Paul Lambert for the club’s 2025 season celebration of its senior teams including the NPL Men and 23s, FQPL Women and Academy 18 Boys and 17 Girls teams.
Bernal has an astonishing life story and is one of the most genuine and engaging individuals in football in Australia today. He has played the game at the highest level in Spain, Australia and England, and beyond the pitch has lived an extraordinary life. He has endured racial taunts, been deported from England, served as David Beckham’s right-hand man during his tumultuous time at Real Madrid and was a victim of the British phone hacking scandal. He has hit rock bottom but then demonstrated amazing strength and resilience to rise once again to not only put his personal life back on track but return to make an impactful contribution to the Australian football landscape.
Wynnum’s 2025 Awards event will be held at the Officers’ Mess, 50 Oxlade Street, New Farm on Saturday, September 27th, 6pm for a 6.30pm start. Tickets are now available for purchase via the following link: https://wolvesfc.majestri.com.au/2025-awards-night
The club’s 2025 Awards Evening will be MC’d by our very own master of the microphone, Vince Atkinson, who will not only interview Bernal on the night but host a panel with Bernal, Frank Farina and Paul Lambert to talk all things football from three fabulous careers.
Wynnum’s major awards for 2025 will be presented on the evening including the Wayne Gracey Medal [NPL Men’s Player of the Year], the Clarrie Shenton Medal [NPL Men’s Players’ Player of the Year] and the FQPL Women’s top player trophies.
The leading players in our NPL 23s and Academy 18 Boys and 17 Girls teams for 2025 will be recognised and several other major club awards will be presented including the Jack Hutchinson Memorial President’s Trophy which each year recognises outstanding contribution to our wonderful community club.
The 2025 Awards function at New Farm will be just one of five presentation events that will be staged by Wynnum Wolves FC to celebrate the year. Other events will be as follows to ensure we celebrate all sectors of the club:
